Psalm 34:17 When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles.
Deliverance –the action of being rescued or set free. This topic of discussion was placed on my heart because it’s what i’m going through at the moment. I see a lot of peoples blogs, and sermons and testimonies on this and that. But how about hearing it when the person is actually enduring it.
The action of being rescued or set free. Hmm what does that make you think about? I think of someone letting a balloon go and it drifts off into the sky ..up up and away. Or a person letting a beautiful dove fly out of a cage. All of these are examples that come to mind to be set free.
Rescued is apart of the definition of Deliverance. When we are rescued that means, someone has saved us. We have been taken to a safe haven. We have been taken away from whatever that was holding up captive. Some of us feel like they are captured and can’t get out. But i’m here to tell you that there is a way out. In 1 Corinthians 10:13 it says No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
And that way out is Jesus christ. He will set you free, deliver you from all types of things that have been holding you down. Don’t get me wrong, You might have to endure it for just a little while it talks about in 1 Peter. But it is all for your good. Rejoice in the pain and afflictions, That means you are doing something right. Then enemy don’t see you as a threat when you ain’t trying to live right. But just when you get some act right [Christ like ] thats when hell will break loose. You are now a threat. But no worries, the devil is already defeated. You have to put on the Full armor of God and stay ready so you ain’t gotta get ready.
I recently just started attending a new church. First service was amazing, so I knew I would be back. This church is a lot smaller than my old church. But the fact that the people are so loving and attentive and you don’t feel like you are just a number in your church; it feels like a little big family. This church should be called Set Free and Rescued. I mean the first Sunday I attended I mean folk was at the altar been slain in the spirit, falling out, crying out, and I know some folk look at that as a red flag and automatically assume that the people are putting on a show. But I think I can tell when folk are really in the spirit because when the music and singing stops, they are still hooping and hollering and crying out. They don’t care who is looking. (in most cases) But its not even for us to be worrying about if folk is putting on or is really getting they dance, scream on.
I’ve never been to a church where the power of Deliverance was so strong. I mean like I said I seen the people falling out and getting healed and just crying out and literally passing out.. leaving the church Drunk in the spirit. Well this past Sunday, I got a chance to experience it first hand. I was sitting in the pews and the Pastor called folk up to the altar for healing and deliverance etc. I was arrogant in my mind and quickly said “I’m good, I went up last Sunday.” Then God’s soft still audible voice told me to “Go up there and get what you need.” So I stood there for a while in the pew debating to obey God or just sit still. Finally I was obedient and walked up to the altar. There was a few people already up there getting delivered and crying out and just being healed and the Pastor was stuck on one lady for some time and I was getting restless standing up there for some time [The Enemy]. I started to pray and wait for the pastor to get to me. My aunt came up behind me and placed her hands on my shoulder and tears automatically started to run from my eyes. Then the pastor got to me, Pastor is a prophet so He was speaking directly the words God was telling him to say. It only confirmed what God had been telling me. See not everybody can go around saying that God told them this and that, its all about confirmation of what you’ve heard from God, and what the Word says [Bible].
So yes, I dropped down on the floor, crying out and just felt a total release. I felt like someone had rescued me from a sea of water. Slowly drowning as I went deeper and deeper into the water. And the crazy thing about it, I thought I was good. I’m sitting in the pews talking about “I’m good, I was just up there last Sunday.” Man it don’t matter if you was up there the last 15 Sunday’s if God tells you to do something and he’s trying to heal and deliver you, You better run up there to that altar. Sad part about it, we really be thinking that we got it all together. Until you get called up there and let that Holy Ghost get a hold of you. Had to be the best thing i’ve experienced.
The thing is so many folk are walking around thinking that everything is good. And then you got some folk walking around just pretending that everything is good. Man you ain’t fooling nobody. You ain’t fooling God and you ain’t fooling the people you are around. People can see the hurt in your eyes, people can see the worries all over you face. People can see how vulnerable you are. But most importantly the Man that knows all things definitely ain’t being fooled. So many people are so worried about what Jack and Sarah and John going to think we you go up and get your healing, when you go up and get our deliverance. To be honest, You can’t be worried about what Folk think. You ain’t trying to get saved , healed and delivered for Man. You trying to get saved, healed and delivered and SET FREE for the mighty Lord we serve. We gotta stop allowing folk to keep up from moving to the next level. God is ready to take us to the next level but he can’t because you too afraid of what Ray Ray going to think because you go up to the altar, or you ask the Pastor for prayer. Man don’t miss your blessing worrying what other folk going to say or think. Because them other folk more than likely need to be running to the altar.
Deliverance is for anybody that wants it. All you have to do is ask God for healing, Ask God to rescue you from all your problems, your situations that’s been weighing you down, ask God to deliver you from things that have been keeping you from moving to the next level. Its most of the time one of these three things. Shoot it might be all three.
1. People 2. Places 3. Things. Take a minute and self examine your life and see what people in your life that are causing you to move backwards, what people are causing you to go back to the clubs and get drunk, what people are causing you to get back into that bed and you know you ain’t got no business being there. Next thing is Places. What places are you going that is causing you to hinder your blessings? Is it the trap house? Is it the strip club? Is it Creta’s house, same girl that got you locked up last time you went over there. Those same places are the very places that when that Bus of Blessings come by, its going to pass your stop because you aren’t going to be in position to get on the bus for your blessing. Lastly, is it Things. Is it DVD’s that got stuff you know you ain’t got no business looking at? It is material things that you are places before God? Is it money [loving money], is it Drugs? Whatever it is that’s keeping you coming up short with moving to the next level.
Let me tell you something, the flesh will never be satisfied. So that is why you gotta ask God to fill those voids that you have. Lord knows I got and have had some voids for the Lord to fill. We gotta stop looking to those People, Places or things to fill the voids that only God can fill.
Matthew 11:28 Says Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
Scripture even tells you about how God wants to give you rest, he knows exactly what your going through. Being delivered is a feeling of peace, a feeling that the world is lifted off your shoulders. There are so many things that the enemy is using to distract us, to keep us from getting to the next level that God is trying to take us. Get Delivered, Get rescued, Get healed. Let God step in and deliver you out of that mess you’ve been in, Let him deliver you out of that junk that you keep finding yourself over and over in. God is the only one who can save you. Jesus is waiting with his arms opened wide for you to come and be his bride. He wants to keep you pure. He wants you to walk down the aisle with him. Not with the people, places or things thats been keeping you from his best.
One more thing, God just shared with me about being Obedient. A lot of us know whats right but continue to do wrong. I can say thats been me. And God still is working on me with obedience. Man if you hear that still, quiet, or even loud audible voice in your ear; YOU BETTER do what he says. I always remind myself that one day we are all going to have to give an account to all the things that we’ve done in our lives standing before God. And I would hate for him to tell me “Well Jasmine why didn’t you listen to me when I told you to stop going to that place” “Why didn’t you obey me when I told you to help out that girl that you know needed your help.” Try your best to follow God’s orders, Even if it don’t make sense. Remember his thoughts and ways aren’t our thoughts and ways.
With every act of obedience, there is a reward attached along.
Deuteronomy 28 “If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully keep all his commands that I am giving you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the world.
