Thorn in my flesh

thorn-in-flesh2 Corinthians 12:4-10  I will boast about a man like that, but I will not boast about myself, except about my weaknesses. Even if I should choose to boast,I would not be a fool, because I would be speaking the truth. But I refrain, so no one will think more of me than is warranted by what I do or say, or because of these surpassingly great revelations. Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

It has been put in my spirit that there are some folk going through some hardships. Some folk going through some disappointments, some heartaches, some weaknesses.. Let’s take a look at Paul. He said He was given a Thorn in His flesh.

Some of us may have a Thorn in our flesh.  But i’m here to tell you guys that this ain’t the time to throw your hands up and say “I can’t do this anymore… This Christian walk is too hard.” This is the time to “hold on just a little while longer.”

1a7a60d4c60818c90ac46417d3063543See we don’t look at this Thorn as a good thing. But God is allowing us to go through this time period of feeling sad, feeling depressed, feeling lonely, feeling like theres nothing else to be done, feeling like you’ve been defeated. [Lord help us.] Paul said he asked God 3 TIMES to take away the feeling of the Thorn in his Flesh. But God said “No , My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” So God said , My grace is ALL YOU NEED, and when you are weak I can make you strong because my power is perfect!!!”

For some of us, God is trying to build character, God is trying to build strength, God is trying to prepare you for the next season of your life where he has called you to do some things that you are going to have to have Strength and tough skin because not everybody going to like you, not everybody going to say good things about you when you get on the platform to do God’s will.

So during this time when it feels like Dannnnng everybody trippin on me, I’m feeling sad, i’m feeling defeated, depressed , unworthy , rejected, this is the time to Thank God for the Thorn in your flesh and PRAY THAT HE WILL HELP YOU GET THROUGH THIS TIME. This is a process! He is PERFECTING you.. This too shall pass. God is about to take you through this season.. But he must know that you are ready and that you aren’t just going to throw your hands up because you got your feelings hurt. God wants to know that he can Trust you.

“This too shall pass.” – That saying i’ve heard time and time again. And its so true. To everything there is a season. Don’t NOTHING last forever. You better think about a time where it was ROUGH, and you just thought that it would never come to pass and be over. And sure enough with a little time, it was over and you had moved on. Well i’m here to say that just as soon as God is done Pruning and Perfecting you through this Thorn in your flesh, THIS TOO SHALL PASS. BUT please, let God take you through the process! Don’t let your flesh get the best of you. God has given you all you need! Fight back the enemy with Scripture! Say “I can do ALL THINGS through Christ who Strengthens me.! The Battle is not mine, But the Lords and he said he will fight for me! My God shall supply ALL my needs according to his riches and glory! Devil, I hear you knocking but I REFUSE to let you in!” You are stronger than you think! That’s why we have the Holy Spirit living on the inside of us.

imagesFor when I am weak, then I am strong. – Man we got the Spirit that raised Jesus Christ from the dead living on the inside of us! Ain’t nothing to hard for us! We think a little difficulty, disappointment, denial, rejection , hurt, pain , heartache is enough to make us give up on God. I try to remember what Jesus Christ had to go through FOR US, he was tormented, beaten, mocked, hung up on a Cross and died. And through out the whole process- He didn’t COMPLAIN, he didn’t say “You know what God, I’m not going to do this, its too hard” He hung in there and Sure enough it was finished and God took care of him.

So I encourage all of you who are going through a tough time, Think about all that Jesus Christ had to go through, and then think about the Thorn in our flesh…(bad break up, got fired from job, pain , disappointment, falling out with someone, financial problem, family issues) Does it really compare to what Jesus had to go through? And don’t you think if you’ve went through it before and God handled it, I’m sure he will make it come to pass again. =)

Hang in there, Your time is coming.

Lord Jesus, I pray that you heal the broken hearts tonight, I pray that You help us who have the Thorn in our flesh, Lord we are tired, we are weak, we are hurt, we are lonely and we need to know that you are ALWAYS with us. Lord let us keep our minds on you and to not let our FEELINGS get the best of us. Lord please don’t let us allow our FEELINGS and Emotions get us to do something unlike you Lord. You said that For when I am weak, then I am strong- Lord strengthen us. Lord let us put on your full armor! We love you and we recognize that we are NOTHING without you. Let us learn to depend 110 percent on you! In Jesus Name, Amen ❤

Be the light Loves,

Jasmine

P.S God knows what we all are going through, tell him how you honestly feel. Sometimes I have to keep it real with God and say “God I miss So and So… Or I wish this would have happened, I’m feeling some type of way about this or that, I’m upset about this…” God already knows… it just makes it more personal when you really tell him how you feel. He cares about our concerns- he says Cast them all to him.
